Human Resources Manager

Our client is seeking to hire a full-time Human Resources Manager to join their team in Rutherford, NJ. This position is responsible for all HR functional areas such as recruitment, employee relations, payroll processes and talent management. This role will support their Rutherford Site along with two other sites in Maryland and North Carolina. (Limited travel) The ideal candidate should have at least 5+ years of HR managerial experience and MUST come from a industrial/manufacturing industry or environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Primary responsibility for recruitment, employee relations, organizational design and development, policy and procedure development, talent development, compensation administration, benefit administration, HRIS, and employee engagement activities.
- Deploys resources necessary to attract, develop, and retain talent. Demonstrates superior results with recruitment and retention programs.
- Provides leadership and consultative support to functional area supervisors and managers to assist them in carrying out their goals and responsibilities.
- Partners with the HR Director to translate strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and tactical operational plans.
- Provides oversight and direction for all human resource management systems and operations assuring that all HR transactions are timely, accurate and SOX compliant and that enhancements and system improvements streamline HR processes. Oversees the creation of periodic and ad-hoc reports for management to support a mangers ability to utilize accurate data from these systems to drive business decisions.
- Responsible for the development of sound employee relations policies and the communication and implementation of those policies. Acts as the point person for interpretation and guidance relative to company policies and procedure.
- Prepares functional leaders for talent review discussions and facilitates quarterly talent check-in meetings to ensure business follows through on talent commitments and people strategies. Manages the succession planning process. Recognizes and understands the strengths, weaknesses, talent levels, skill gaps, and development needs. Develops programs to close gaps and align talent resources with business needs.
- Delivers training initiatives; including, but not limited to, annual Talent Review, tuition reimbursement, skills training, and management development.
- Leverages HRIS and other HR systems for information and support justification for business decisions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred. SPHR / PHR certification preferred
- 5+ years HR experience with 2 in management role
- Experience supporting a manufacturing facility
- HRIS database experience, preferably Workday
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Basic business acumen, clear ability to partner with business leaders
- Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations and Recruiting
- Strong organizational and planning skills; attention to detail is a critical required skill
