Retail Support Technician

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop support or retail systems support, proficiency in Windows OS, PC rollouts, Ricoh printers, and basic networking, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Individuals must be open to travel up to 35%.


This role is a contract to hire opportunity and has a hybrid work model that includes some travel.


Responsibilities


  • Utilize expert technical skills to support and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software for our customers.
  • Collaborate with IT associates and business partners to identify opportunities and optimize IT services.
  • Assist in implementing new retail technology by leveraging expertise in various technical areas.
  • Conduct PC and peripheral refreshes at remote locations.
  • Coordinate and execute the setup of PinPads and other credit card technologies.
  • Aid in IP and domain conversions.
  • Support IT management and senior technical staff in creating departmental guidelines and operating procedures.
  • Provide timely status updates to end users and IT associates during incident resolution.
  • Participate in special projects or assignments aimed at improving systems and operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop quotes, secure approvals, and facilitate the procurement of equipment, software, solutions, and consulting services in line with documented needs and best practices.


Requirements


  • Minimum of 3 years in desktop support or retail systems support (e.g., credit card systems, POS devices, peripherals).
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, PC rollouts, Ricoh printers, and basic networking (routers, switches, wiring). Mid-expert level technical expertise required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote teams across different time zones and geographies.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and off-hours if needed for project completion or critical issue resolution.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; bend, stoop, and maneuver to reach wiring, computers, or network equipment; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 10 pounds.
