Maintenance Technician

This company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient completion of all maintenance tasks related to facility and production equipment. This role ensures that all systems and equipment are functioning optimally to meet production requirements.

Focus:

Maintenance Technician I

  • Assist in basic repairs and installations of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery, following safety and maintenance guidelines.
  • Learn to use technical manuals, basic tools, and test equipment to troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Document work performed on equipment through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Assist with tear-downs and rebuilds as part of preventive maintenance.

Maintenance Technician II

  • Perform intermediate-level repairs and installations on machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Proactively identify and resolve equipment errors to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in training and developing less experienced technicians.
  • Regularly use CMMS for maintenance tracking and reporting.

Maintenance Technician III

  • Take ownership of complex equipment repairs and preventive maintenance, including production, HVAC, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and correct advanced electrical and mechanical issues, ensuring minimal production disruption.
  • Calibrate and test equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Lead projects to improve equipment performance and reliability, working alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and guide lower-level technicians on advanced troubleshooting and equipment maintenance techniques.

Maintenance Technician IV

  • Lead and oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment is kept in peak condition to meet production requirements.
  • Diagnose and repair highly sophisticated equipment and systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all electrical and mechanical maintenance functions.
  • Mentor and guide Maintenance Technicians at all levels to develop their technical skills and knowledge.

Skill Set:

Maintenance Technician I

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of tools and machinery operation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills.

Maintenance Technician II

  • Vocational or technical school training in electrical systems or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

Maintenance Technician III

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical systems, or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in facility or production maintenance.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and advanced understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and lead small teams.

Maintenance Technician IV

  • Certified with an active Electrician’s License or similar qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage maintenance teams effectively.
