Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Des Moines, IA
Type: Full-time, Direct Hire, Onsite
Summary:
Responsible for building, repairing, and overhauling manufacturing equipment, jigs, and fixtures. Assist engineers, production, and manufacturing managers with repairs, building maintenance, and special projects.
Primary Duties:
- Collaborate with production leaders to start machines, inspect parts, and troubleshoot issues.
- Install or replace machines or parts with the design team.
- Build custom production equipment using off-the-shelf pieces.
- Perform repair work from blueprints and manuals.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols, including lockout-tagout regulations.
- Maintain stock of materials and equipment.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Technical degree or 4-year engineering degree preferred.
- Proficient with tools, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including PLCs.
- Experience with robotics and automation programming.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good attendance and dependability.
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
