Commercial Lines Account Manager


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, main point of contact for clients, especially for the day-to-day needs.
  • Develops complete client information and applications for renewal business under the direction of the Producer or in several cases, work, and present renewals without producer assistance. Identifies and requests renewal exposures. Advises clients on the best product to purchase with regards to covering different exposures. Reviews existing coverage for possible enhancements like cyber, EPL, exposure changes, increased business income. Guides clients through the renewal process, in conjunction with the Producer and submits requests to carriers according to the renewal process timetable, follows up with carrier underwriters and completes the appropriate renewal process per Agency procedures.
  • Research on existing client’s business-review of business names on KY Secretary of State, discussions with clients on upcoming purchases and business changes.
  • Maintains files with proper records according to company procedures. Maintains good internal file audit results.
  • Processes change requests/endorsements, binders, certificates, evidences of property, account summaries, proposals, policies, lost policy releases, audits, premium invoicing, facilitate client finance agreements, and assist with aged receivable balance status when requested. Ensures that these items are given to client in a timely manner. Initiates appropriate correspondence with carriers and clients. Responds to requests and issues from clients and insurance companies.
  • Reports loss of claims and monitors claims status.
  • Assists in the development of strong business relationships with appropriate insurance carrier personnel. Recognizes and satisfies carrier goals and objectives in order to enhance business relationships. Works marketing strategy for renewals with our carriers, including conversations with numerous underwriters regarding exposures, loss history, and business plan of clients to find a good fit for the client and the insurance carrier.
  • Prepares policies, renewals, and other documents for delivery to insured.


Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Must have commercial lines account management experience and knowledge of insurance markets.
  • Must have an active Kentucky Property & Casualty License.
  • Working knowledge of Applied Epic preferred; will consider experience with other agency management systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.


Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm and Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm (Hybrid Work Schedule)
