The Sr. Manager of Human Resources is responsible for creating an engaged and productive workforce across Flinn through the direct management of a team of Human Resources team members. They establish balanced and effective people strategies for Flinn, and then work with the team to execute those strategies – from program design to task-level detail.


The scope of this role spans all human resource practice areas, such as Hiring, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, and Worker’s Compensation / Safety.


YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Team Leadership: establish meaningful goals, milestones and tasks for the HR team that support or drive the goals of the organization
  • Engagement: partner directly with Chief Executive Officer and their direct reports
  • with People Leaders: support leaders from executive to line-lead in performance management, progressive discipline and terminations, job structure and labor planning, and development. Partner with managers at various levels of the organization to develop people plans that move the organization forward
  • Support: support employee inquiries regarding pay, timecards, benefits or other topics
  • Optimization: evaluate HR and people-impacting processes to eliminate non-value adding tasks and continually create capacity for the HR team to take on new tasks

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE

  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant certificate program in HR or related area
  • 7+ years in HR field, preferably with exposure to broad generalist and some specialized responsibilities
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations (federal / state / local)
  • Understanding of HR principles and best practices
  • Experience configuring and enhancing HRIS systems such as ADP or Paychex to deliver HR services
  • Proficiency analyzing data, creating formulas, pivot tables, charts in an application like Excel
  • Proficient creating content with Office365 apps like SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint, consuming data through PowerBI or other analytical tools and using Teams to schedule and host events
  • Relevant professional accreditation from SHRM or HRCI a plus
