Business Operations Analyst

Location: Memphis, Tennessee (Hybrid)

Duration: 6-12 Month contract


Our client is immediately seeking a Business Operations Analyst for a 6-12 month contract opportunity based in Memphis, Tennessee.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret data to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools such as Excel; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
  • Apply project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to track project progress and drive tasks to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT activities with business objectives.
  • Create comprehensive, visually appealing reports and dashboards using tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Advanced skills in Excel; working knowledge of business intelligence tools like Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Experience in tracking project progress and driving tasks to completion.
  • Familiarity with IT operations, systems, and key performance metrics (lagging and leading indicators).
  • Ability to create detailed and visually appealing reports and dashboards.


Analytical Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for analyzing complex data and identifying trends.
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and report generation.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Understanding of business metrics and their relation to IT performance.


Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written communication for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and documentation.
  • Proficient in data visualization and storytelling to deliver impactful product deliverables.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for presenting findings and facilitating discussions.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across departments.
  • Effective collaborator with IT and business teams.


Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills for prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.
  • Methodical approach to organizing data and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain comprehensive records and ensure consistency.


Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, CBAP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business operations analysis, data analysis, or a related field, preferably within an IT environment.
