Wire EDM Manager
Tool Specialties Company currently has an opportunity for the role of Wire EDM Manager. This position will require someone with the ability to efficiently manage their time while working in our EDM and Quality Control department. The perfect candidate will also be self-motivated and enjoy working with a staff of twenty or more team members.
Daily duties in the life of the EDM Manager can include:
- Set-up, operate and program a variety of EDM machine tools, including Charmilles, Makino, and Fanuc machines.
- Inspecting parts with hand tools; micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Inspecting parts with measuring machines; Brown and Sharp CMM, Deltronic Comparator, Keyence Vision machine and CMM, etc.
- Ensuring all projects are processed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Working closely with the department leaders to meet daily throughput requirements.
- Assisting Toolmakers and machinists with projects to ensure their successful completion.
- Responsible for the overall maintenance of equipment and special projects as needed.
- Maintaining a supportive, productive, and respectful working environment through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Upholding Tool Specialties safety culture by participating in job safety training and following all plant rules and work procedures.
- Provide oversight of a mature ISO 9001-2015 quality management system.
- Assist with internal audits and quality objectives.
Some achievements we’re looking for:
- strongly preferred.
- At least four (3) years of experience in an EDM, CNC Machinist role.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime and/or weekends.
- Experience fabricating and maintaining metal stamping dies or a broad knowledge of metalworking/metal stamping industry.
- Ability to understand and utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Strong fundamental math and hands-on problem-solving skills.
