HVAC Design/Mechanical Engineer

The Design Engineer design is responsible for the products, components, systems and sub-systems in their manufacturing facility. They will work cross-functionally to ensure the highest level of design quality, integrity and performance are maintained with strict adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Position Summary
Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure implementation of new products and changes to existing products are consistent with new product development plans, codes and cost reduction plans.
Develop design drawings for electrical and controls disciplines to comply with project specifications, codes and regulatory standards
Lead all technical design reviews and failure investigations.
Provide technical support to manufacturing for the resolution of manufacturing issues associated with components, systems, subsystems or products.
Combine technical expertise, project management skills and the ability to facilitate or lead cross-functional teams
Work closely with operations, engineering, sales and quality groups to provide technical support
Recommend, develop, coordinate, and implement process changes, modifications, or developments for productivity improvements, quality improvements, cost savings, and new product development.
Positively contribute to the engineering process and develop alternatives that allow the company to deliver consistently high-quality products and solutions to our customers
Implement process improvements and standardization around product designs and platforms.
Qualifications
· Selected candidate will possess a BSME, or BSEE with 4 to 7 years experience.
· 3 to 5 years experience in mechanisms, motor, HVAC with a heavy emphasis on the petrochemical and
industrial applications.
· Demonstrated experience with Product Development Processes and Disciplines.
HVAC/Refrigeration systems, or experience in fluid controls is highly desirable
· Knowledge of electromechanical and electronic components, including smart relays and PLCs
· Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and disciplines.
· Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, geometric tolerances and “design for assembly”.
· Working knowledge of load calculations, heat transfer and other design tools.
