We are seeking a detail-oriented senior cost accountant to join our finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cost analyses, determining the costs of our business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor, and delivering accurate information for management to make budgetary decisions.


Responsibilities:

Create and implement cost standards for materials and labor.

Design and implement cost accounting systems.

Prepare and complete internal cost audits.

Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.

Analyze the data collected and record the results.

Analyze production costs and recommend changes.

Assist in month end close of the general ledger.

Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development.

Review and assess inventory for potential obsolescence.

Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.

Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories.

Report on periodic variances and their causes.

Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.

Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.


Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.

Must have a strong cost systems background, excellent analytical skills, and sound understanding of accounting principles.

Must be proficient in MS Excel.

Experience with ERP system is a must.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and processes.

Experienced in working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
