Job Summary:

The Senior Quality Manager will lead and mentor a team to ensure top-notch product and service quality. You'll oversee quality management systems, set strategic goals, and drive improvements to meet regulatory standards and enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll address quality issues and foster a culture of excellence. Strong leadership and analytical skills are crucial for success in this role.



Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Leadership

• Leads and facilitates strategic planning and annual goal setting for the quality department. Supports supplier assessments and development, and conducts business reviews, presenting KPIs to executive leadership, suppliers, and customers.

Continuous Improvement and Lean Integration

• Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by integrating Lean principles into operations and management development programs. Provides guidance on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and drives change within the business unit, supporting the company’s Lean transformation across all functions.

Company-Wide Improvement Initiatives

• Champions company-wide improvement initiatives to minimize waste, increase yield, and enhance customer satisfaction. Applies best practices including Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, and APQP to improve product lines and reduce the cost of poor quality. Designs, implements, and documents procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.

KPI Reporting and Issue Resolution

• Reports Quality KPIs and dashboards to executive management, manufacturing supervisors, and hourly employees. Identifies recurring high-impact issues and implements effective corrective actions. Develops continuous improvement programs to address and mitigate these issues.

Metrics Analysis and Problem-Solving

• Monitors and analyzes metrics such as customer returns, internal defects, test yields, scrap, and other non-conformities. Recommends and implements corrective and preventive measures using formal problem-solving methodologies like 8D processes and action plans.

Quality Assurance Management

• Oversees daily Quality Assurance activities, including verifying conformance to specifications for manufactured and assembled parts and those provided by suppliers. Assists with the development of engineering specifications as needed.

Quality Control and Validation

• Plans, directs, and oversees quality control lab and validation testing to support new product development and ensure daily conformance to specifications. Investigates opportunities for process improvement.

Customer Complaint Resolution

• Works with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sustaining Engineering, Suppliers, and Field Service to address customer quality complaints. Facilitates regular Quality Review Board (QRB) meetings with these teams to drive improvement and accountability. Conducts experiments, inspections, and analyses to support data-driven decisions and corrective actions, including product holds, rework, recalls, or redesigns.

Team Supervision and Development

• Supervises and directs Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineers, Inspectors, and Lab Technicians. Responsible for hiring, mentoring, training, evaluating performance, enforcing company policies, and recommending changes in employee status.

Compliance and Auditing

• Maintains compliance with plant-wide Quality Management Systems (QMS) and manages registrations as necessary. Coordinates product and process audits and ensures compliance with system, product, or process certifications through third-party regulatory bodies. Recommends corrective and preventive actions in response to non-conformities.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.

• 10+ years of experience in quality roles within manufacturing or assembly environments, including positions as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Quality Supervisor.

• 5+ years as a Quality Manager leading a team in a manufacturing or assembly setting.

• Proven experience in managing and upholding ISO, AAR, TS, AS, or other globally recognized Quality Management Systems (QMS).

• Skilled in designing and implementing quality systems.

• Experienced in applying methodologies such as 5S, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Standardized Work, Cellular Manufacturing, Kaizen, Single Piece Flow, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

• Comprehensive knowledge of inspection techniques, control methods, and documentation practices.

• Demonstrated expertise in effectively developing and leading teams while successfully interacting with customers.

• Exhibits clear, professional, and respectful communication, both verbal and written, in a manner that supports an inclusive work environment.
