Senior RF Systems Engineer

Overview:

The senior systems engineer is a key role in the development organization reporting to the CTO. The senior systems engineer creates the system level design through research, analysis, documentation, project oversight and hands on effort. 


Responsibilities

·       Conduct wireless communications system design

·       Assist in the planning of design projects and product development efforts

·       Analyze system performance using Matlab/Simulink or other relevant tools

·       Build prototype systems in the lab to measure performance compared to predictions

·       Conduct field testing to validate performance in real world scenarios

·       Create written reports to describe design, analysis and measurement work performed

·       Manage time to meet delivery schedules for internal and external projects

·       Identify technologies to assist in company design and development workflows 


Qualifications

  1. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics plus 5 years of experience or Masters degree plus 2 years of experience. Communications Systems and theory focus is highly desirable
  2. Strong background in RF and Wireless communications systems and theory
  3. Experience in the following types of analysis is required:
  4. System Size Weight and Power Analysis
  5. RF system performance including link budget analysis
  6. Sensitivity level prediction including cascaded noise figure
  7. Linearity and max signal level prediction including cascaded IP3 and saturation level
  8. Experience in Free space optical communications link budgets and simulation is desired
  9. Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  10. RF/Wireless Measurements experience is required including: Spectrum analysis including RTSA, Datalink error rate testing, BER/BLER, Noise figure measurement, S-parameter measurement, RF circuitry test and debug
  11. Wireless Network performance testing using PCTel tools is desired
