Quality Assurance Tester

firstPRO is now accepting resumes for a Quality Assurance Tester role in Woodbridge, NJ. This is a 6+month contract and onsite 4 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Based on project requirements and technical design, develop & execute software test cases
- Plan test schedules & strategies in accordance with project scope & delivery dates
- Document test cases, results and defects utilizing MicroFocus (formerly HP) Quality Center/ALM
- Create and manage test data, including data for use by automated scripts where applicable
- Document and communicate project quality over the course of testing, including readiness for release using our standard test process and status reporting template
- Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality
- Support User Acceptance Test (UAT) phase - largely through test information sharing and test data creation for UAT team members using our automated processes
Desired Skills:
• 3-5 years testing and/or Property & Casualty Insurance experience
• Experience with Quality Center/ALM for requirements, test case and defect management
• Data testing experience including writing SQL and working with XML files
• Exposure to Property & Casualty Insurance a plus
• Excellent skills as a communicator and facilitator, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish a common goal
• Self-starter with strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills
• A ‘process improvement’ mind-set
