WHAT'S IN STORE FOR YOU: This position offers the chance to dive into the world of HVAC product development, with a focus on testing new products, sustainability initiatives, and quality improvements. As an HVAC Product Development Technician, you will gain hands-on experience operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and troubleshooting alongside experienced professionals.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Operate and maintain commercial HVAC equipment, ensuring accurate data collection for new product development and quality improvement projects.
- Assist in the installation, modification, and build of developmental HVAC equipment, adhering to engineering and safety standards.
- Support Test Engineering and other Technicians in setting up and utilizing laboratory test equipment, including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, and flow measurement devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC technologies, collaborating with senior laboratory staff to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with company policies and procedures.
ARE YOU AN HVAC TECHNICIAN ROCK STAR?
- Associate degree in HVAC or a 2-year equivalent program in HVAC from an accredited school.
- Consideration for candidates with a 1-year certificate/diploma and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, with the opportunity to complete an associate degree in HVAC within 2 years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
- EPA Type Universal Certification or a willingness to become certified.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration-related thermodynamic principles and mechanical troubleshooting is preferred.
- Knowledge of measuring and inspection instruments, as well as mechanical and electrical components, is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical reports, and safety instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to multitask and tackle practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
