Robert Half is actively seeking a dynamic Product Owner to join the digital team of a prominent client in the auto financial services sector. This client is focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences across its digital platforms, including finance websites, a new mobile app, a customer service agent console, and other key digital tools for automobile owners.


Location: Remote (Must be local to SoCal)

Duration: 18 months

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $60-63/hour


Position Overview

The Product Owner will play a key role in the digital product team, managing the entire software development life cycle for large-scale projects, enhancements, and ongoing production support. This role involves defining and prioritizing the product backlog, writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized communicator who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including UX, engineering, marketing, and legal.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a product vision and roadmap that aligns with the client’s business goals. Support roadmap decision-making and work closely with business leaders to prioritize initiatives.
  • Define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog. Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, lead grooming sessions, and ensure that requirements meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX, engineering, and customer experience, to develop and deliver high-quality products. Assist in field training, stakeholder communication, and operational support for nationwide teams.
  • Write and execute detailed UAT test scripts, support testing workstreams, and report on testing results to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure operational excellence and meet service level agreements (SLAs) for platform releases, payments, and incident management. Collaborate on license, cost, and vendor management to maintain seamless platform operations.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and backlog management. Facilitate cross-departmental communication and alignment within the Agile framework.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing payment flows and customer interactions in digital environments.
  • Ability to create strategic roadmaps, manage budgets, and navigate the procurement process for tools and vendor selections.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT teams.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is ideal; Salesforce certification is preferred or a willingness to obtain it within the first year.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product management or operations, ideally within digital financial services
