Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated project manager to join our growing team at Hammer Construction Corp. This is a full-time mostly office-based role located in Miami, FL. As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for the administrative oversight of construction projects, from planning and budgeting, to managing resources, to tracking progress and closeout.


Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:


  • Communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to define project objectives, establish timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets.
  • Thoroughly understand project deliverables, create timelines, develop and manage detailed project schedule.
  • Interpret construction plans and specifications, determine scope of work, and send out RFI’s to architects, designers, engineers, and sub-contractors as applicable.
  • Be able to conduct precise quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Work closely with project superintendents to coordinate feasibility of project schedule and timeline and adjust accordingly.
  • Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare and lead all construction OAC meetings.
  • Evaluate and propose selected subcontractors for projects based on scope, qualifications, experience, and budget.
  • Responsible for leading procurement process including sourcing and purchasing of materials and finishes as applicable to the project and confirming they meet plan/project requirements.
  • Occasional site visits to meet clients, subs, and other stakeholders and address any issues, discrepancies, clarifications, or additional scope that needs to be submitted for approval.
  • Assess project risks and address potential problems and hazards.
  • Responsible for reporting project progress via schedule of values to upper management for payment requests/billing to clients and coordinate with superintendents for progress payments for subcontractors.
  • Conduct regular meetings with superintendents to monitor progress, plan upcoming phases of the work, and resolve any issues/challenges.
  • Create and submit Submittals to stakeholders as applicable.
  • Be familiar with permit processes and requirements and coordinate all required permits for projects under purview in a timely manner.
  • Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure all quality control standards are met for project and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Supervise that team is adhering to OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Manage and collect closeout documents and handle handover to client.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a construction project manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, regulations, building codes and best practices.
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations, permits and approval processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical documents, including project blueprints, construction drawings and schematics, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and project document specifications.
  • Ability to conduct quantity take-offs and cost control.
  • Excellent project management skills, including effective planning, organizing and time management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools and cost estimation software, such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Projects, Procore, Fieldwire, Autodesk Build) or other similar software.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle are a requirement for this position.
