Job description:

  • Manages key functions on less complicated commodity categories
  • Develops and maintains sourcing strategies
  • Assists with opportunity assessment of major categories and cost of ownership opportunities; analyzes key trends in global supply, profile market, and industry analysis
  • Understands and standardizes company commodity needs
  • Identifies and investigates all cost of ownership opportunities, including non-purchase price-driven opportunities
  • Manages the bid process and supports cost reduction activities and achieves annual improvement targets
  • Develops and implements all supplier selection criteria and plans, chooses suppliers, negotiates and implements contracts, manages supplier performance
  • Develops key long-term supplier relationships to achieve continuous improvement and manages contract performance to ensure cost, service, quality, and flexibility goals are met
  • Implements supplier-sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness


Competencies:

  • Knowledge of contracts and contract administration
  • Demonstrated project management, financial analysis, and product costing skills
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in business administration
  • Supply-Chain management or similar discipline
  • two to three years of related experience
  • equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.


Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) designation is preferred.
