Rapidly expanding high voltage electrical contractor in the Midwest seeks new Director of Operations to oversee Distribution, Storm Response and Transmission operations. The company has doubled in size with new ownership, and plans to again by 2026. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor with a flourishing electrical contractor with business savvy leaders that have deep industry connections and pedigree. The role is based in NW Arkansas or SW Missouri and has a speedy growth path as the company expands.


Director of Operations – T&D / Transmission / Distribution / Storm Response


Significant Duties:

Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company from management of field operations, client development & retention, and ensures projects are performed successfully.

  • Responsible for driving operations to attain strategic goals, objectives, and profit targets
  • Drive safety, quality and profitability to meet or exceed company objectives
  • Establishes Operations policies and processes and ensures their execution
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of projects from concept to completion including overall safety, permitting, planning, estimating, project controls, constructability reviews, and closeout.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPI’s), financial statements and operational reports
  • Identify construction bid opportunities that are profitable to foster growth opportunities for the business
  • Oversee Storm Response management and growth including pre and post storm reviews
  • Assist the finance team with cost projections, cost control, and cash flow analysis
  • Provide leadership mentoring, coaching, guidance, and support for all operations department personnel
  • Responsible for overall financial performance of operations department

Skills and Qualification

  • 10+ years of experience in utility power construction and/or electrical contracting industry
  • 2+ Years of experience in Project Management
  • 5+ years of P&L experience
  • 5+ years of experience in fleet and tool management and procurement
  • Strong safety background
  • Management of collective bargaining workforce / Union
  • Ultimate accountability for performance results of the organization.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management
