Supply Chain Engineer

 

As a Supply Chain Engineer at Boston Industrial, you will participate in high visibility client-based projects utilizing your expertise to solve complex business problems. Projects include analysis of current conditions, material handling layouts, distribution center design, manufacturing/logistics strategies, implementing automation equipment and WMS/MES software implementations among others.

 

A.   Expectations

 

·      5+ years’ experience in designing supply chains and distribution

·      5+ years progressive experience in industrial engineering, consulting, or distribution operations. Cross functional experience in engineering and operations preferred

·      Experience running large scale capital projects supporting Supply chain operations

·      Exceptional time management, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills

·      Experience in AutoCAD

·      BS / MS in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar discipline

·      High command and Expertise in Excel, Access and PowerPoint

·      Strong understanding of the Material Handling Industry

·      Direct experience in designing Automated Distribution Centers, preferably in the small parts picking or Ecomm environments

·      Proven comprehension and working analytics ability using SQL, databases, simulation and other BI tools

·      Strong / proven understanding of Work Flow Optimization, Productivity Improvement 

·      Organized and professional written and oral communications

·      Self-starter, team player

 

·      Tasks would include:

o   Analysis and design of material handling systems, supply chain operations

o   Conduct field investigations and data gathering accurately and diligently

o   Provide analysis of data for supply chain and MHE automation process

o   Ability to learn and use Simulation

o   Conduct tasks to develop distribution design criteria including workflow analysis, operations layout and CAD support

o   Participate on multiple projects for Distribution based clients

o   Improve company tool sets for systematic layout design and productivity increase

o   Interface with clients; work in an organized and quality fashion
