Sr. Manager Supply Chain - End-To-End Planning, located in Danvers MA.

Abiomed is looking for an experienced and driven associate director whose knowledge and skills will help lead, manage, and advance our processes, tools, and metrics for overseeing operational health.

The role algins data and processes across the value stream, from materials management, production, engineering, distribution, and commercial teams to ensure business has a sufficient amount of products to meet the needs of customers.

They will monitor inventory health (FG, RAW, Accessories, Subs-components) and governance, along with a near-term outlook, to ensure we proactively flag issues and opportunities, have clarity on root cause, set day to day priorities, and have teams mobilized to action mitigations and improvements.

They must be able to think strategically, manage relationships with stakeholders, drive accountably, and deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have a strong program management, analytics, communication, and organizational skills, with a technical background to help understand concepts and support the team and suppliers when necessary.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monitoring and overseeing all elements of the supply chain value stream to ensure sustained patient supply and avoid production disruption.
  • Develop supporting operating procedures (SOP's) to meet and maintain operational goals.
  • End to end inventory health reporting and outlook planning. Track/monitor key KPI's for operating mechanism, and when trends or control limits are triggered that escalation & communication paths are followed.
o Ensure inventory is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers.

o Facilitate cross functional mitigation planning, alignment and escalation - working with cross functional teams.

o Drive timely decisions and facilitate active communication and information flow between team members, internal stakeholders, and external partners.


o Conduct proactive scenario analysis to ID potential risks or areas which require increased focus/monitoring.

o Monitor key assumptions within metric calcs (eg. Usage, demand, scrap rates, in transit cycle time, etc.)

  • Manage overall project plans for larger scale improvement programs - track key actions and risks, prepare and present project status reports and metrics, and secure required resources; Orchestrate project governance.
  • Develop, implement, and manage global operational health strategies, tools, and plans that align with the company's goals and objectives, while maintaining sustained supply in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Proactively review processes and analyze data to identify opportunities and/or problems. Recommend and oversee actions for improvement.
  • Required to perform day-to-day activities for data gathering, reporting, and developing and following up on action plans.
  • Manages direct reports including coaching and mentoring employees in the performance of daily duties, establishes performance standards, and provides support to ensure job results meet expectations
