Tiello has partnered with a highly successful General Contractor in the Washington DC area on their search for an Assistant Project Manager for Commercial Tenant Improvement/Ground-Up construction projects up to $50MM.


The Assistant Project Manager will serve as the company's point of contact both with the client and with the construction team when required. You will engage in and influence the safety culture and have the authority to make decisions on the General Contractor's behalf about such items as cost and schedule.


Title: Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction (2+ years)


Project Types: Tenant Improvement and Ground-Up Commercial (Office Buildings, Schools, Restaurants, Hotels, Data Centers)


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee & Direct the project schedules and budgets for successful completion of each project.
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to assure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
  • Oversee and Develop and maintain a good relationship with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors
  • Provide the client with value-engineered solutions when applicable.
  • Work with Superintendents to develop safety plans and to implement safety procedures
  • Manage project deliverables
  • Oversee and mentor the project staff to foster a positive team setting


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of commercial construction
  • Commercial TI experience and/or Commercial Ground-Up Experience
  • BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred NOT required.
  • Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and design consultants.
