Summary:

Phillips & Jordan, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Contract Administration to play a critical role in managing and overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation and execution to compliance and closure. The ideal candidate will understand construction laws, contract negotiations, and risk management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead the contract administration department, ensuring effective management of contracts throughout their lifecycle.

· Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to minimize risks and maximize benefits.

· Coordinate with project managers, legal, finance, and other departments to ensure contracts are aligned with project delivery and company policies.

· Implement and manage contract management tools, systems, and procedures.

· Provide training and guidance to team members on contractual matters.

· Stay updated with changes in legislation and industry practices affecting contracts.

· Works closely with operations and contract administration team to identify potential changes and opportunities.

· Directs and participates in the organization and submission of work/change orders, including their review, tracking and processing through resolution and owner approval.

· Assist with performance auditing and monitoring for existing contracts.

· Ensure vendor and contractor agreements are managed.

· Ensure contract files are maintained, updated and tracked through contract management system.

· Partner with customers, clients and operations team to support and resolve complex inquires/issues.

· Pursues, builds and maintains strong relationships to enable effective communication with the customers, clients and operations team.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of Contract Analysts and Contract Administrators.


Requirements:

· Ability to present detailed data in a clear and concise manner.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of federal, state/local laws, regulations and codes.

· Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role.

· Accurate and precise attention to detail.

· Advanced Excel skills.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.

· Juris Doctor Degree or another applicable advanced degree or certification in contract management is preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or related field, with at least 3 years within the construction industry preferred.

· Strong understanding of construction law and contractual terms and conditions.

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
