This role supports the Accounting Manager's objectives, particularly in the Billing function.


Key Responsibilities:

Communication:

  • Coordinates with various departments such as Accounting, Administration, and Engineering to ensure open, timely, and accurate communication.
  • Frequently interacts with external parties including clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Responds promptly and courteously to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal staff.
  • Prepares and disseminates correspondence with internal and external parties, often dealing with confidential matters.
  • Explains accounting procedures and financial data to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Upholds the organization's values by maintaining confidentiality of information.


Data Processing and Bookkeeping:

  • Records financial transactions across multiple systems, requiring independent decisions for online data entry and regular review and analysis of report output.
  • Prepares, assembles, tabulates, and verifies bills, vouchers, invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • Conducts data entry and performs complex reconciliations and data comparisons.
  • Prepares and posts journal entries.
  • Performs advanced calculations.
  • Maintains databases by entering new and updated customer and account information.
  • Prepares and maintains records and tables for internal and external accounts.
  • Assists with year-end reporting as needed.
  • May assist in budget preparation.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assists in designing and creating financial reports.
  • Generates and distributes reports for regular review and analysis (weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Reviews, analyzes, and may interpret reports.
  • Assists with the accurate and timely processing of year-end reports.
  • Collects, tracks, and organizes reports and documents for filing and data processing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar).
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
