Job Summary

As a key member of the Teva Pharmaceuticals team, the Director of Accounting will be responsible for leading the US Accounting and reporting function. This individual will oversee the accounting team activities, including the US consolidation, and provide accurate and timely information to management and corporate accounting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and auditing, with experience in leading/supervising staff and implementing process improvements and efficiencies. Additionally, this role will involve reviewing legal agreements and business development deals, providing exposure to other areas of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly closes for Teva USA and its subsidiaries.
Supervise the consolidation process for the US entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to corporate accounting.
Lead and mentor a team of direct and indirect reports within the accounting department, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
Partner effectively with corporate accounting, subsidiaries, and various departments to address complex accounting issues and provide financial insights.
Drive initiatives and integration efforts to streamline data flows, enhance reporting accuracy, and support decision-making processes with robust analytics and reporting tools.
Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to optimize financial reporting capabilities.
Proactively investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies within the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Assist in the financial assessment and review of legal contracts, business development agreements, and other strategic initiatives.
Manage interactions with external auditors and support the quarterly and annual audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate audit documentation and responses to inquiries.
Maintain comprehensive SOX compliance documentation for all areas of responsibility, ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Minimum 10+ years accounting and/or auditing experience, either in public accounting or related equivalent.
Experience with SAP.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience with leading/supervising staff.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Knowledge and experience in application of US GAAP.
