About the role:
 The Managing Director reports to Board of Directors and is the top operating position in the organization with overall general management responsibility for all aspects and functions.
This position is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization in accordance with operational and strategic direction set by the Board of Directors in comprehensive business plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure development of Board-approved comprehensive (strategic and operational) business plans for the organization, and then see that those plans are implemented, and that all actions, programs, services, and special projects tie back to, and further, the organizations mission
  • Identify, assess, and inform the Board of internal and external issues that affect the organization
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization
  • Oversee the selection, planning, implementation, and execution of programs, services, and special projects
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, healthy and legally compliant work environment
  • Determine staffing requirements and ensure that legally compliant, effective, and clear personnel policies, procedures, and practices are in place and being implemented
  • Coach and mentor the staff and ensure regularly scheduled performance evaluations
  • Participate with the Board and Finance Committee in the establishment of a comprehensive budget and then operate the organization within that established budget approving expenditures in accordance with Board-delegated authority
  • Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization's people, property, finances, goodwill, and image, and implement measures to control those risks
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement and striving for excellence in all elements and aspects of the client.
