One Cancer Place (ONE) is a doorway to the vision for cancer patient empowerment and personalized medicine across all cancer types. The organization aims to provide cancer/science education to carers and patients so they can help others make informed treatment decisions at cancer diagnosis. ONE connects cancer "siblings" globally with personal introductions for sharing experiences, advance cancer research, and put hope on the map.


Role Description

The ONE Volunteer Coordinator (ONE VC) will be responsible for training volunteers, managing volunteer activities, coordinating community outreach efforts, and facilitating communication among volunteers. This role is remote and requires a commitment to supporting cancer patients and advancing cancer research. As the ONE VC, you will play a vital role in organizing and managing volunteer participation at various learning events. While this is an unpaid position, you will be compensated through travel arrangements to exciting business conferences where you will contribute to meaningful initiatives, build connections, and develop valuable skills.

Our ONE VC can anticipate growing both into this role and also into larger roles in our growing organization.


Qualifications

  • Experience in Volunteer Training, Volunteer Management, and Community Outreach/or a desire to learn is desirable.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills; an initiative-taker a huge plus
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
  • Passion for supporting cancer patients and advancing cancer research
  • Previous experience in healthcare or nonprofit organizations is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of cancer biology and current cancer treatments is beneficial
