Description:
The Brand & Communications Specialist aids in the development and execution of quality written and visual communications to support Kanopy’s brand initiatives and messaging across a range of digital and print outlets. The specialist develops and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others. This role will be both a generalist, with wide brand strategy skills, and a specialist with deep subject matter knowledge within the film, content, and streaming industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep expertise in the Kanopy brand, including brand attributes, style guides, and go-to-market strategies.
- Create engaging content for various social media platforms
- Collaborate internally with the other brand strategy and marketing teams to execute compelling marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Create brand-focused copy for a wide range of marketing channels, including e-mail, social media, ads, video scripts, and trade show collateral while balancing the Kanopy brand guidelines and deadlines.
- Contribute to succinct and direct creative briefs for campaign graphic design and video elements, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
- Proficiency in idea generation and message development; draft quality marketing communications while balancing the demands of brand management and deadlines for web, print, direct marketing advertising, events, etc.
- Don’t just write. Ask smart questions of senior marketers and internal stakeholders, helping to clarify business priorities, define key messages, and differentiate Kanopy.
- Be an innovator. Continually recommend new creative channels, technology, approaches, or assets for campaigns. You’re a creative.
- Other duties as assigned to support OverDrive and our brands.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- 0 - 3 years of related experience (i.e., copywriting, e-commerce, journalism, marketing, communications, social media, etc.)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, planning, and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of various communications channels, including email, advertising and popular social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (notably Photoshop and Premiere).
- Experience with Google Analytics or other web analytics tools.
- A passion for television, film and/or streaming content.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment that requires the ability to multi-task and implement high priority initiatives.
