Job Posting: Inventory Control Technician

Location: 4800 E River Rd, Fridley, MN 55421 (Minneapolis)

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Shift: 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23-$24 per hour


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inventory processes, including receipt of GFM and generation of receiving paperwork.
  • Create and manage pick lists and factory orders, tracking and resolving shortages.
  • Conduct physical inventories and coordinate specialized inventory activities.
  • Handle traffic and transportation coordination and maintain accurate inventory data.
  • Prepare materials for disposition, including discrepant and excess items.
  • Support production inventory control and perform audits under senior supervision.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety policies and objectives.
  • Collaborate on self-development initiatives with supervisors.
  • Perform material handling duties, including unloading trucks and delivering materials to the shop floor.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of inventory functions related to contractor-acquired and government-furnished property.
  • General knowledge of receiving, storage, manufacturing, and shipping inventory processes.
  • Problem-solving abilities under the guidance of a senior PIC Planner or manager.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, email, and calendar software.
  • Strong research, analytical, and information integration skills.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to effectively direct and coordinate the work of administrative staff.
  • Capability to interact with personnel at all organizational levels.

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant experience in the defense industry and/or with BAE Systems.
  • APICS Certification.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP Inventory Roles.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant manufacturing/property/inventory experience.
  • Relevant experience in the defense industry and inventory management preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience; APICS CPIM certification.

Additional Information:

  • Forklift and Crane Certification required (provided by BAE).
  • Must be comfortable working in an active shop environment.
  • Physical requirements include regular sitting and standing, and occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Work conditions include a normal office and shop environment with frequent trips to the shop. Extended hours or weekends may be necessary, and some travel is required.
