General Summary

The Sales Director at Kira Labs is a dynamic leader who spearheads the company's sales team and shapes its overall sales strategy. They set challenging yet achievable sales targets, devise innovative plans to reach them, and inspire their team to consistently surpass expectations. A key focus for the Sales Director is to cultivate strong, enduring partnerships with customers that fuel Kira Labs' sales growth. This pivotal role drives revenue generation, uncovers new business opportunities, and contributes significantly to the company's overall success. Additionally, the Sales Director oversees the daily operations of the sales team, fostering a positive and results-oriented environment dedicated to achieving sales goals.


Primary / Key Essential Functions and Responsibilities


Strategic Planning:

  • Develop Sales Strategy:
  • Formulate and implement effective sales strategies to achieve the company’s sales targets and objectives
  • Align sales strategies with overall business goals and market opportunities
  • Market Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, market needs, and competitive landscape
  • Analyze sales data and market conditions to adjust strategies as necessary
  • Annual calendar / planning
  • Create, manage and own the customer annual plan / calendar (e.g. key meetings, product launches, etc)


Leadership and Management:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve high performance
  • Foster a positive and productive team culture focused on achieving sales targets
  • Recruitment and Training:
  • Recruit, hire, and train new sales staff
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team
  • Performance Management:
  • Set performance targets for sales team members and monitor their progress
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback and coaching


Sales Operations:

  • Sales Forecasting:
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and set realistic sales targets
  • Monitor and report on sales performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed
  • Oversee the monthly Sales plan and ensure Sales team carries out activities to achieve the Sales plan
  • Sales Processes:
  • Implement and optimize sales processes, workflows and activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure that the sales team adheres to established processes and best practices
  • Ensure sales activities are well defined, clearly communicated and executed upon
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of strong relationships with key customers and partners
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction  / retention and address any issues or concerns promptly
  • Handle high-level client negotiations and resolve customer issues
  • Meet & communicate with customers on a regular basis to determine evolving product needs and opportunities
  • Revenue Growth:
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and initiatives
  • Identify new business opportunities and markets to expand the company’s customer base
  • Market Expansion and Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and business partnerships
  • Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Develop strategies for entering new markets and expanding the customer base
  • Lead efforts in product launches and promotional activities
  • Assist the CEO / New Business Development Team with preparation for and attending multiple yearly Trade Shows


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives
  • Provide input into product development and marketing strategies based on market feedback and sales performance


  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and performance updates to senior management.
  • Develop and communicate sales strategies, goals, and performance / success metrics to the sales team and other stakeholders
  • Debrief internal team members/stakeholders on meeting actions, priorities, and feedback


  • Sales Operations and Performance Management:
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to the executive team
  • Manage sales budgets and resources efficiently
  • Analyze customer sales and meet regularly with Sales Team members to understand product performance


  • Innovation and Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for improving sales processes, tools, and techniques
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Innovation:
  • Encourage and support innovative approaches to sales and customer engagement
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the sales team

  • Partnership Development:
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance sales opportunities
  • Manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders to support business growth


Education and/or Experience and Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years of experience as a senior sales manager or director with solid track record


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite of products, and Adobe
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
