My client is a large university in Boston. They are hiring a Security Program Manager, which will be hybrid and be onsite 3 days per week. You must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

The ITS Security Program Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the university's information security program. This includes ensuring the security of the university's IT infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT security, project management, and risk assessment, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development and Management- Develop and maintain the universitys IT Security program, policies and procedures
  2. Risk Assessment and Management- Conduct Regular risk assessments and vulnerability audits
  3. Compliance and Governance- Develop and maintain documentation for audits and regulatory requirements
  4. Project Management- Manage security related projects from inception to completion
  5. Collaboration and Communication- Work closely with ITS, academic and administrative departments to integrate security into all aspects of the universities operations

Must Halves

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  2. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
  3. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT security, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  4. Strong knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
  5. Experience with risk management, compliance, and incident response.
  6. Excellent project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
