Day to day: Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Systems Admin willing to work on-site in Topeka, KS for a government client. This person will work in a normal office environment cross functionally with several members of the infrastructure and application development teams. The Systems Admin will help provide guidance and consultation in the selection and deployment of technology solutions and related maintenance contracts for agency business needs and they will review technology solutions requested by the agency to assess architectural alignment, relationship to agency and department goals and objectives. Off of that, they will develop quotes, cost/benefit analysis, and makes purchase recommendations to Assistant CIO and senior agency staff. They will also provide inventory management for all agency hardware and software purchases. In addition, this Admin will coordinate and supervise deployment of a wide range of networking and client\server technologies in support of agency goals, including operating systems and applications. They will also assist in managing the data centers. They will provide expert level troubleshooting skills for a wide range of technologies and coordinate troubleshooting initiatives for complicated network\server related issues that may branch across bureau\agencies. This person will also provide further mentoring, training, and development to IT Support staff.

Technologies they will be working with: LAN Administration, Storage systems, Windows server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange server, MSIIS, SharePoint, Terminal services, VMWare ESX, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Clustering, antivirus, system cloning, archiving and backup/restore products and technologies.
