Optomi, in partnership with a logistics infrastructure company, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for the client's Wilmington, DE. The client owns and operates an integrated network of dry, liquid and breakbulk terminals and logistics assets on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and Inland River System of the United States.


Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

  • Proactively plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade the company’s IT Infrastructure which includes hardware, systems, and networks.
  • Act as Tier 2 infrastructure support for our facilities in Wilmington DE.
  • Troubleshoot network and security issues.
  • Participate in the change management process.
  • Independently identify and remediate network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Perform daily administrative tasks, such as reporting and communication with relevant departments in the organization.
  • Stay apprised of IT Infrastructure trends, recommend improvements to our network accordingly.
  • Evaluate infrastructure purchases, recommend solutions based on cost-benefit and/or ROI analyses.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites as needed (10-20% expected).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications of the Right Candidate:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in IT Infrastructure hardware and software.
  • Experience with a broad range of technologies in a corporate environment (e.g. Firewalls, Switches, Wireless Infrastructure, Mobile Industrial Devices, Video Surveillance, Windows and Linux Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, AWS, and Azure).
  • Must be comfortable working with both physical and logical networking.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of current cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
