Summary

Dermatology Specialists is seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Accounting to join our team. The Director of Finance and Accounting is responsible for the company's financial health and growth, including accounting operations and financial strategy. By combining strategic and operational goals, the Director of Finance and Accounting manages the accounting and economic aspects of the company by enforcing a financial strategy aimed toward profitable long-term growth. Additional duties include overseeing the finance, business office, and accounting departments, conducting financial assessments, generating reports, establishing company budgets and conducting risk assessments on business initiatives.

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation and profit and loss reporting. The Director of Finance and Accounting will oversee all accounting activities related to income auditing, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection, and tax compliance.


Duties and Responsibilities

· Conducts weekly and monthly financial assessments and generates reports to be submitted to the Executive Director.

· Works in conjunction with the Management Team to prepare annual departmental budgets, plans and projections for board approval.

· Presents financial data, metrics, and statistics to the Board of Directors.

· Provides oversight of yearly financial compilation and any special financial audits that occur.

· Allots funds for capital projects and works with the Executive Director to ensure they stay on track financially.

· Conducts analysis of financial risks and benefits on new and existing business initiatives and revenue streams.

· Provides team leadership and oversight of the business office department.

· Provides team leadership and oversight of the accounting department.

· Offers guidance, coaching, and mentoring to engage and develop staff.

· Attends business office and coding meetings as required.

· Oversees the coordination of reimbursements and patient accounting, claims processing, cash balancing, accounts receivable and collections.

· Oversees and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as CMS and DHS.

· Oversees the definition and comparison of national benchmark data.

· Analyzes practice fees on an annual basis and makes rate recommendations to ensure appropriate income/cash flow.

· Provides oversight and implementation of new financial regulations.

· Acts as key leader in AD HOC projects.

· Manages implementation of new policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance with cash basis income tax accounting, federal and state tax laws and all regulatory agencies.

· Oversees and provides analysis on monthly financial reports, accounts receivable reports, investment projects and profit sharing.

· Interacts with the Executive Director to develop strategic plans for all functions of Finance and Revenue Cycle.

· Serves as a business partner by establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with staff, colleagues, and leadership of Dermatology Specialists.

· Supports the core values, goals and objectives of Dermatology Specialists.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Undergraduate degree is required MBA is preferred with prior experience working in healthcare finance at a management level and experience working with large data sets.

The candidate will have the ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees and will possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, demonstrates a strong attention to detail, is motivated by new challenges, and strives to be constantly learning and improving. This individual is a self-starter, deadline-driven, goal-oriented, and works well independently.


As a condition of employment, Dermatology Specialists does require a current Influenza vaccination.
