Experience: 5+ years' technical network engineer experience


Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or comparable experience


Certifications: Some combination of Cisco, Palo Alto and a Meraki certification is preferred


Job Summary: The IT Network Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and supporting an enterprise Local Area (LAN), Wide Area (WAN), and Wireless (WLAN) network. Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, mentors other team members, and leads projects.


Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in enterprise LANs, WANs, WLANs including routers, switches, network load balancers and wireless access points.
  • Expert knowledge with Palo Alto, Meraki, Cisco, and Voice products.
  • Expertise in speaking comfortably about complex network issues with non-technical users.
  • Managed multiple complex network projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive experience with network troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Preferred – cloud network experience.
  • Solarwinds, NS1, Kemp, 8x8, Global protect, GFI, Device42, Riverbed, Megaport, Cradlepoint


Job Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to the Helpdesk for complex escalations as well to other parts of the IT department. Understanding of various systems and issues for efficiently resolving complex problems.
  • Provide routine maintenance and problem management. Proactive involvement to ensure the timely resolution of problems and issues, minimizing the impact on healthcare services.
  • Provides consistent professional support to the organization.
  • Plan, Design, and Implement new installations and changes to IT network infrastructure.
  • Monitor, Administer, Support, and Troubleshoot IT network infrastructure.
  • Develop system documentation standards and procedures related to IT network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members, and Leadership.
  • Advise and mentor junior members of the IT Infrastructure team on technical topics.
  • Function as the technical lead and owner on assigned IT network infrastructure projects.
  • Provide leadership to the infrastructure team on IT network standards, designs, and tools.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on IT network Infrastructure components.
  • Maintain knowledge and ability to perform hands on work on assigned systems.
  • Work with leaders and team members to plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize networking systems.
  • Author articles and help maintain the knowledge base.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for network systems.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates standard operating procedures related to networking systems.
  • As part of the IT Operations team, provide system support on a 7x24 basis.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation.
  • Demonstrates and promotes strong customer service orientation.
  • Assumes individual accountability for own conduct and maintenance of professional attitude and appearance.
  • Approaches change in a positive manner, motivate staff to work as a team, accept constructive criticism and learn from it. Demonstrates esprit de corps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
