Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments; Shell FCU Employee Creed and Shell FCU Service Distinctions.
  • Accountable to maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations required within the scope of duties, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Required to complete annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled.
  • Perform job duties and responsibilities in compliance to SFCU policies, procedures, philosophy and standards of performance.
  • Develops and maintains business relationship with current and potential business owners for the credit union.
  • Calls and visits current business office locations to expand and financially service existing business as needed.
  • Travels to other credit union locations to assist existing or potential business members.
  • Obtains necessary documents to fully underwrite and document credit requests.
  • Reviews member financial condition and assess the member’s ability to repay.
  • Determines member and guarantor’s creditworthiness utilizing various sources, including personal and business credit reports, tax returns and other documents.
  • Reviews loan documents for accuracy and appropriateness prior to closing and subsequent to signing as required.
  • Reviews and analyzes legal documents such as trusts, corporation articles and by-laws, partnership agreements and other information necessary to fully open an account or submit loan request.
  • Maintains current member files including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
  • Provides friendly, professional and personal service to all members.
  • Assists members and potential members with their financial service needs; explain services, open, maintenance and close business accounts, offer solutions to member issues, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate team members when further assistance is needed.
  • Must be able and willing to work 40 hours per week plus overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to work the rotating opening, closing and Saturday schedule, as needed.
  • Must be well versed in all Credit Union products and services.
  • Assist members with their service needs related to, but not limited to:
  • Change of Address, issue/maintenance ATM & debit cards, safe deposit box
  • Notary services, assistance with Bill Pay, Digital Banking
  • Process disputes, stop payments, check orders, check copies and statement requests
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of member information.
  • Must keep all member and Credit Union information secure at all times.
  • Cross-sell Credit Union products and services based on member needs.
  • Answer and greet all incoming Credit Union calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Interview, originate, and processes all member business loan and deposit applications
  • Provide member appropriate follow up of their application as well as the final decision.
  • Must take the initiative to assist with problem solving, troubleshooting and to provide support in all areas of the department, as needed.
  • Meet/exceed personal and department goals.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience:

Minimum three years direct credit union experience as a Financial Service Representative or five years related experience.


Education / Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


Job Requirements:

  • Possess the desire to accept additional responsibilities within department operations
  • Possess a highly positive, member-service oriented attitude and the ability to anticipate member needs and initiate assistance beyond duties assigned
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail are needed
  • Must possess professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and procedural expertise in credit union products, services and promotions
  • Ability to work in an open-concept workspace/environment.



Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend and stand. May at times be able to lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds.
