Parent Partner

Our mission at Sevita is to create a world where every person has the right to live well. As a Parent Partner for California MENTOR Family Support Services, a member of the Sevita family, you'll provide guidance to individuals through your prior personal experience as a parent or guardian of a child who's been involved in the care system. Each day, the connections you make and the compassion you bring make a difference in the lives of our participants. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of clinical staff and supportive supervisors, while you grow your career.

Annual Salary: $44, Salary plus overtime)

Responsibilities:
  • Guidance to parents/caregivers who have children being served through the system, sharing and relating your own prior experience
  • Advocacy and liaison services between the families, children, clinician, treatment staff, community agencies, and services
  • Participates as a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), trainings, court review hearings, IEP, and other meetings and assists the parents/caregivers in bringing up and discussing difficult issues
  • Lead or co-lead individual and parent counseling groups providing education, consultation, or other needed services
  • Documentation and record-keeping
  • Provide services in the home and community - Flexibility with schedule
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior personal experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system (DCFS, probation, Regional Center, Dept. of Mental Health or the like) required
  • Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year
  • Two years of experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred
  • Reliable vehicle, valid CA driver's license in good standing with access to a registered vehicle with insurance
