This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing a critical role in enhanced Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) surveillance studies to inform high-profile, high-impact public health policies.

The Research Scientist IV (RS IV) is responsible for leading and implementing COVID-19 surveillance studies, including but not limited to genomic surveillance and special studies or analyses to understand the epidemiology of COVID-19 in California.

The incumbent works under the administrative direction of the Research Scientist Supervisor I, Chief, Genomic Epidemiology Section.

This is a 12 month Limited-Term Full-Time position that may be extended or become Permanent.
