Job Summary

Works with multiple IT teams and the university departments to develop, maintain, and enhance University applications to strengthen student success and enrollment. Responsible for gathering business requirements and the upgrade of, and on-going support for, software and applications. Provides technical support for ApplyTexas. Perform work in ways that contribute to the universitys successful achievement of enrollment goals. Foster a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community and leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and modify systems including coding, testing, debugging, and installing to support software applications.

Define and analyze information technology needs and then modify existing software, systems, and/or processes to meet the users needs.

Create technical specifications and detailed software design documentation based on business requirements.

Ability to design, code, test and install complex computer programs based on technical specifications using Enterprise standard development tools.

Interact with the user community to gather and document business requirements, conduct process analysis, and draft conceptual design.

Works on multiple projects with competing deadlines requiring strong attention to detail.

Perform data mapping, conversion testing, and end-user documentation.

Assess the impact of application upgrades and provide proposals for applying them effectively.

Work with users and other IT members on a routine basis to troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to application software. Identify the cause, and design or develop an approach for resolution. Upon approval, implement the correction/customize the software to meet user-specific needs.

Provide 2nd-level support for application problems.

Performs other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a related field with one (1) year of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Solid Functional Area Expertise.

Experience with reporting tools SQL, PS Query, excel, visualization tools (SAs and tableau), etc.

Experience with student information systems and applications: MyMav, Image Now, Perceptive, Third Party applications, website, Sitecore, CRM, Text Messaging, Mass Email, etc.

Proven skill with higher-education technological solutions, and business analysis/processes.

Knowledge of and ability to learn the full systems development life cycle of a product.

Ability to work independently using investigative analysis for problem-solving.

Ability and willingness to adapt to a fluid work environment, including team and independent responsibilities.

Ability to master new technologies quickly.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
