The Discovery Biotherapeutics team at BMS seeks to understand the structure and function of complex molecules such as bispecific antibodies, antibody drug conjugates and endogenous proteins in order to optimize their utility as therapeutic agents.

We collaborate with biology and translational scientists imbedded in the Thematic Research Centers in order to prosecute Targets and Biological pathways with disease modifying potential.

By using a blend of internal and external technologies and capabilities, we work to discover and deliver first-in-class as well as best-in-class molecules that warrant clinical evaluation for patient benefit.

As part of the Discovery Biotherapeutics efforts at BMS, the Functional Assays team plays a key role in discovering and characterizing a first
- and best

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple antibody/binder discovery processes develop fitforpurpose primary screening assay and provide characterization support for lead molecules.
  • Enable and maintain our biologics drug discovery operations: represent departmental function on project teams. Identify and manage research collaborations/CROs, collaborate with other stakeholders across Discovery Biotherapeutics sites.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of academic or industry experience

Or

Master's Degree with 6+ years of academic or industry experience

Or

PhD with 4+ years of academic or industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD with 4+ years of industry experience
  • Significant experience in assay validation, antibody primary screening, and downstream MOA profiling
  • Indepth knowledge and handson experience in various techniques for protein and antibody characterization, including BLI or SPR, flow cytometry, and high content imaging
  • Data processing experience with workflows using Genedata or other equivalent data management system
  • Handson experience working with neurodegenerative, immunosciences, or oncology biologics

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.

For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
