The Role

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by developing, overseeing, supervising and leading the kitchen team.

These goals will be received by working directly with the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef to establish and maintain standards across all food operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily department and team activities effectively.
  • Coordinate menu planning and implementation.
  • Maintain food standards and presentation.
  • Organize cost-effective and hygienic food production.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and discipline of kitchen team.
  • Improve operational efficiency without compromising service quality.
  • Control food and labor costs.
  • Provide leadership support, coaching, and recognition to team members.
  • Supervise kitchen personnel and ensure timely food production.
  • Uphold hospitality standards, resolve guest complaints, and comply with regulations.

  • Working knowledge of kitchens and restaurant operations.

Requirements & Experience

  • Mastery of various culinary styles and proficiency in all line-level cooking stations.
  • Maintains a consistently high level of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and late hours.
  • Punctuality is a must – ability to report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Endurance for extended periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Demonstrates a guest-responsive culture with exceptional service as the top priority.
  • Attentive, accountable, highly organized, and adept at planning multiple activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including phone etiquette.
  • Maintains a positive, professional demeanor, and excels in team collaboration, providing lateral service as needed.
