Maintenance Events Summer Staff

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is hiring for Maintenance Events Summer Staff This position performs special event setup and breakdown and supports day-of activities while working with staff, volunteers, vendors, artists, and patrons in a team environment. This position also provides general ground and landscape maintenance; clean up support of park grounds, structures, and facilities and the operation of related maintenance equipment.

We have three (3) seasonal positions that may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week, starting in June. Hours may include day, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year. Seasonal employees may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of 6 consecutive months.

Special events take place year-round, with an increased number of events from May through September at various THPRD park and facilities around the District.

Essential Job Functions

Candidates should be prepared to work outdoors, on uneven surfaces, in various environmental conditions each week. Physical exertion is required to lift, move, drag, push and carry heavy objects (up to 60 pounds). This position also requires crouching, bending, kneeling, and reaching, operation of motor vehicle on public roadways, towing of trailers and operation of forklift to perform duties.

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
  • Must be age 18 or older
  • Experience working in park or landscape maintenance or event logistics.
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License and good driving record
  • Experience in event production desired
