Job Summary and Qualifications


Under the supervision of the Director of Quality Management and/or VP of Quality Management, the Quality Coordinator is responsible for compiling data for studies involving medical care evaluation/improvement efforts, assists Medical Department leadership in determining criteria for conducting ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE), and triggers indicating need for focused professional practice evaluation (FPPE).

Serves as team member or facilitator, responsible for promoting and monitoring safe, high quality, cost effective healthcare through the Peer Review and OPPE/FPPE process.

Facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure OPPE quality metrics are meaningful and appropriate for all service lines and specialties. Gathers and disseminates Peer Review/FPPE/OPPE outcomes/reviews to appropriate hospital and medical staff departments and committees. Integrates review findings with the credentialing and reappointment process. This position maintains current knowledge of Peer Review/FPPE/OPPE requirements from The Joint Commission in order to meet all standards.

What qualifications you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting
  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
