Would you love to work with freshwater aquatic species in rivers, estuaries and lakes in the picturesque Central California Coast? The Central Region's Coastal Fisheries Team has an amazing opportunity for a highly motivated scientist looking to make a positive impact to conserve aquatic resources through fisheries population assessments within Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and San Benito counties This position serves as the Coastal Fisheries Team's "Resource Assessments" Biologist, using a variety of methods to monitor fisheries habitat, populations, and angling, focusing primarily on steelhead and rainbow trout and opportunities to work with other fish species.

This position collects data and writes reports to inform fisheries management decisions and restoration actions for the Department, in coordination with State and Federal agencies, scientific community, and the public.
