Job Summary
As a Youth Peer Support Specialist at DGS, you will work under the supervision of the Crisis Clinical Coordinator. Your role involves providing peer mentoring and advocacy to youth in crisis situations, aiming to connect them with the support they need to achieve stability. This position entails documenting mentoring services and requires working closely with crisis clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment Mentoring
- Maintain professional and empathetic interactions during crises
- Utilize critical thinking skills to support youth in crisis
- Provide support and counseling
- Conduct home visits and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Adhere to professional standards and ethics
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and teamwork
Minimum Qualifications:
- Lived experience in youth support for behavioral health needs
- Ages 18-24
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license
