The Firm has an opening for a Litigation Paralegal to join its Raleigh, NC office. This position is responsible for assisting attorneys with administrative tasks, as well as helping manage and organize case files, discovery, and pleadings.

MGS is a well-established law firm with a civil litigation practice primarily in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We have a well-qualified and personable staff, most of whom have been with the Firm for several years. Responsibilities

1. Organizing and managing case files.

2. Assisting attorneys with preparing legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, discovery, and responses to discovery.

3. Summarizing significant documents including medical records and depositions.

4. Assisting with trials and hearings, including preparation of exhibits and other trial documents, and coordinating with clients and witnesses.

5. Communicating with clients, other counsel, and court staffs on cases.

6. Ensuring that all filings are compliant with court rules, including federal court e-filing.

7. Scheduling travel and depositions.

Qualifications

1. Strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, strong writing and proofreading skills, and strong attention to detail.

2. Advanced technical skills with Word, Outlook, and Excel.

3. At least one year of litigation experience preferred.

4. Paralegal certificate preferred.
