Job Title: Lead Day Camp Counselor
Location: District-wide, including Edwards Field House, Eagle Pool & Ice Rink, Gypsum Recreation Center
Schedule: Part-Time; Seasonal; Season: April - October
Work Environment: Indoor and outdoor settings at Mountain Recreation facilities
Salary: $17.88-$22.35/hour DOE, with additional incentives available

As a Lead Day Camp Counselor, your responsibilities will include overseeing the safety and well-being of children, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Some of the key duties include:

  • Ensuring children's safety at all times
  • Supervising youth during activities
  • Planning and preparing materials for camp activities
  • Instructing activities according to guidelines
  • Maintaining cleanliness of facilities and equipment
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Conducting sign-in and sign-out procedures
  • Responding to accidents or incidents promptly

The ideal candidate for this position should possess considerable knowledge of behavior management, childhood development, effective teaching techniques, and safety guidelines. Skills required include effective communication, teamwork, customer service, and the ability to work under pressure.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, have experience working with children, possess a valid driver's license, and hold a current CPR certification.
