Job Description
Alum Spring Baptist Church seeks a Director of Music to help fulfill the mission of the church by providing inspirational leadership and assist in leading the music for the church's weekly worship services as well as other special worship services as specified by the Senior Pastor.
The applicant shall work closely with other members of the music ministry to maintain an up-to-date music library and that the choir and praise team needs are provided within budgeted amount.
The applicant shall ensure rehearsals for choir and praise team are scheduled, prepared, and conducted so that these groups can help enrich our worship services.
Lead congregational and choral singing and ensure that instrumental accompaniment for all regular and special services is provided as determined by the Senior Pastor.
Ensure Vacation Bible School musical requirements are met.Coordinate music selections with the Senior Pastor, music staff, and office staff in conjunction with the production of the weekly service bulletin and service visual projections.
Advise and/or consent on outside musical groups.Attend the quarterly church council meeting.
The applicant is expected to work with other committees and the deacons to gain insight into church needs.
Qualifications:
The applicant shall be a Christian and demonstrate beliefs consistent with Christian church teachings.
Must be able to play and lead music from various Christian traditions.
Must have the ability to perform in front of groups of any size.
Must have the ability to read music and lead a choir and congregation.
The ability to play a musical instrument such as piano, organ, or keyboard is desired.

Shall provide a resume and references.

Part-time
Expected hours : 15 per week.
