Pediatrician Opportunity in Culpeper, Virginia

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated pediatrician to join our team at UVA Pediatrics Culpeper. As a pediatrician with our practice, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in the clinic and other locations, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Work collaboratively with the medical director, administrative management, office manager, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient management.
- Exercise independent judgment in assessing, diagnosing, and initiating medical processes or procedures, commensurate with training and experience.
- Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, as well as initiate CPR or other emergency therapy as needed.
- Formulate diagnoses and identify health risk profiles, documenting and communicating this information to other healthcare team members.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with staff.
- Perform procedures and surgeries within the scope of practice and UVA Health System credentials/privileges.
- Order medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia Prescriptive regulations.
- Request consultation and initiate referrals to other physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
- Evaluate and analyze patient responses to disease processes or therapeutic interventions.
- Provide information and support to patients and families regarding disease processes and treatment plans.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and educate patients and families regarding planned diagnostic procedures, medications, and treatments.
- Manage patients in accordance with established UVA Health System and UVA UPG policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited residency in a chosen specialty.
- Board certification in a specialty (if newly graduated from residency, must be obtained within 2 years of graduation).
- Unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current DEA certificate without restriction.
The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, and repetitive motion. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull lbs. may be required. The job may expose the employee to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
