As a Project Engineer, you will be assigned specific projects by the chief technical officer, for which you will be responsible for ensuring all design, document generation, first article builds, testing, and production/service approval activities execute to plan (Safe, Compliant, On Budget, On Schedule).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, operate tooling and equipment required for assembly and test, verbally communicate with management in spoken and written English, and read and execute work instructions written in English.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
This is a full-time office position, located on the Space Coast in Melbourne, Florida. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexible hours available.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review product design documentation, customer requirements, performance standards, and design standards, complete technical studies, and prepare cost and schedule estimates for proposed and ongoing projects
  • Submit testing and validation plans for product conformance and acceptance activities to the Program Manager for approval
  • Provide the Program Manager with project schedule by reviewing the project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues
  • Provide project status reports to Program Manager by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project execution performance and trends and providing recommended actions to meet plan objectives
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, software, and/or system design, prototype development, testing, and validation activities as required
  • Support generation and revision of work instructions and required technical documentation for production servicing and repair operations
  • Design/Develop specialized test equipment/fixtures and associated technical documents and users' manuals as required to support production, test, certification, and maintenance of products and services
