Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications to residents through approved methods.
  • Take resident vital signs and report any irregularities.
  • Follow the "6 Rights/3 Checks" protocol.
  • Accurately record medication administration in residents' electronic charts.
  • Calibrate capillary blood glucose (CBG) machines and record readings.
  • Conduct and document a narcotic count at the start and end of each shift.
  • Ensure timely medication orders and take on leadership duties in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience as a Certified Medication Assistant (CMA), Resident Assistant/Caregiver, or CNA preferred.
  • Prior experience in medication dispensing within Assisted Living, Residential Care Facility, or Long-Term Care settings.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's Card.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and documentation.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, make sound judgments, and maintain professionalism.
  • Clear criminal background check.
